One of those needs will be access to a strong partner who can mentor you through the challenges of becoming established in whatever mode of practice you select. There is none stronger than the combined wisdom and power of the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

MOA is The Voice of optometry in Michigan and will always be there for you at the front lines of legislative and legal issues that affect you professional future. Michigan optometrists enjoy the full scope of practice privileges, thanks only to the efforts of MOA. Our therapeutic privileges are matched in only four other states, and we have just recently won reimbursement parity for medical eye care from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. You will soon learn how vitally important that is for the practicing optometrist.

The question for you as a future Doctor of Optometry is: “Will you be there for the MOA and AOA when you graduate?” Your membership in professional optometry’s association is critical for the continued support that will be needed by all ODs as we face the challenges of the future. MOA/AOA is your partner, your umbrella and your safety net. Together, we can assure that your future will be as successful as you want it to be.
