NOTICE TO DOCTORS REGARDING YOUR
OE TRACKER NUMBER
Starting with the Winter Educational Seminar at Kellogg Center, every registering optometrist will need their OE Tracker number to register for MOA educational seminars. Working in collaboration with the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO), the MOA has begun a new system for tracking and verifying CE attendance using the individual optometric education (OE) tracker number that will be encoded in a personal barcode printed on every name badge issued to registered attendees.
This change will allow doctors to easily track all their own CE attendance credits online and print out proof of CE attendance from the ARBO Web site when needed. The site also offers calendars of coming CE events and a password-protected personal record of every doctor’s progress towards the CE re-licensing requirements for each state. It will also provide a more efficient and equitable method for monitoring attendance at seminars, a trend that is becoming the standard at large national CE meetings. That means that you must be on time for each scheduled session, and be present for the full number of hours for which you are seeking CE credit. Entry door monitors with scanners will record attendees as they come and go, so there will be no need to fill out any attendance forms to turn in at the end of the day.
Last year, ARBO sent an OE Tracker card with a personal optometric education (OE) number to every licensed optometrist in the country. You will need this number to register for the seminar. If you did not save or cannot find the card, you can go online to the ARBO Web site to find your number. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Go to www.arbo.org, the home page of the ARBO Web site.
2. At the welcome page click on "OE TRACKER".
3. If you have already registered on the site, click on "LOGIN". Otherwise click on "New Users Register Here".
4. Follow the registration instructions to be able to log in and access the ARBO OE Tracker personal information pages for your continuing education record.
5. After you log in as a new user, you will see the OE Tracker menu of options. Click on GO! at the end of the "Change my profile:" line. This brings up your personal profile with your name, state license numbers and OE Tracker or "Optometric Education" number. Verify that your contact information is correct, and copy down your six digit OE Tracker number for use when registering for all MOA educational seminars.
If you encounter difficulty online, don’t have access to the Internet or have questions about OE Tracker, you may call the ARBO office toll free at (866) 869-6852. Also, if you need a new card, you may call the ARBO office.
